| 概要 | The study aims to develop and implement lessons integrating home economics and mathematics, and to evaluate the viability of integrating the subjects from the perspective of an interdisciplinary approach that provides a new dimension to STEM education. Four lessons incorporating the integration of mathematics and home economics were devised and implemented for Japanese Grade 10 students (N=45). The lessons were themed regarding 'considering one's entire life from a financial standpoint'. The teaching and learning materials developed were the 'Sugoroku game of life', in which each of eight groups was tasked with having one individual with a profession experienced their life on the game board and calculated income and expenditure, utilizing integrated skills pertaining to simple and compound interest, equalization of rebate and revolving payment, followed by frequent random life events. |
