概要 Online poster presentation.In this study, we first clarify the current situation of "control" of parents' values and nurturing attitudes toward their children's lessons. Next, we compared the effects of interventions using parenting picture book on parents in the U.S., Germany, China, and Japan, where children are taking lessons, among the four countries. The strength of the controlling attitude among values and nurturing attitudes toward learning was measured before and after silent reading of picture books for 100 mothers each from the U.S., Germany, and China, and 200 mothers from Japan, whose children were learning in the upper grades of elementary school. The results showed that the achievement-oriented and continuity-oriented values toward learning and the controlling attitude toward nurturing decreased after the silent reading of picture books, indicating the educational effects of picture books.
