Details Background this research, simple mental health screening that uses Kessler 10 (K10) was performed to search for a possibility that will early discover and support students who are mentally unhealthy and to examine the validity ofK10.The university newcomer students were asked about the current medication, outpatient treatment records for one month or more in the past one year and sleeping hours by Questionnaires and then Kessler 10 (K10) was performed.K10 was able to detect four (66.7%) of six with outpatient treatment and medication records of psychiatry and psychosomatic medicine. Even for two students who were not able to be detected by screening of K10, the data indicated that one disease condition was stable and the others medical treatment ended.
