| 概要 | This research described to prepare a longitudinal BMI percentile curve for maturity type using longitudinal data for Japanese boys and girls born between 1989 and 1991 residing in urban areas of Western Japan. Data concerning the stature and weight was collected from 283 boys and 480 girls 6.5 to 16.5 years of age each 4 months for a period of 11 years. For the cross-sectional study, the percentile was determined based on the each chronological age groups and used as data. For the longitudinal method, the percentile for each age group was determined by establishing the age at PHV as zero years old and converting data for one year before and after that age. A clearly greater tendency to be either overweight or underweight was observed for the %ile curve of the children born between 1989 to 1991 than for those born between 1962 and 1964. |
