| 概要 | We analyzed three major unintentional accidental causes of death among elderly individuals in Japan: stumbling falls, bathtub drowning, and food choking, and compared them with deaths resulting from traffic injuries. Consequently, the number and proportion of the three major accidental deaths among elderly individuals increased from 2001 to 2021, with notable increases observed in stumbling falls and bathtub drowning. Given Japan's status as a super-aged society, it is crucial to raise awareness and implement preventive measures for these three major unintentional accidental deaths among elderly people in Japan, while understanding their current situation and risk factors. |
