概要 本口頭発表（英語）では、18世紀以来書物によってヨーロッパにもたらされた日本原産植物についての情報と、1860年代の日本開国と同時に、日本原産植物が英国を中心とする植物マーケットに与えたインパクトを検証した。日本から英国に移入された2種の植物、アオキAucuba japonicaと日本カラマツLarix leptolepisが、どのように英国で受容されたのかそのプロセスに注目した。
