概要 In spring 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic led to an urgent decision to move to emergency remote teaching (ERT). Although Japan is a technology-based country, the use of technology in education had been limited until then. This pilot study explores some of the experiences of EFL teachers at Japanese universities from spring 2020 to summer 2022. The results show positive attitudes towards the use of digital tools, but a lack of training and support during ERT. Finally, the author offers some suggestions on the use of technology beyond the pandemic.
