The purpose of this study was to confirm whether pre-conditioning LTS, which raises rectal temperature (RT) by approximately 2°C, suppresses increases in plasma creatinine (Cr) levels in a mouse model of renal ischemic reperfusion injury (IRI).Cr and BUN levels of the IRI mice were significantly elevated compared with those of SC mice (P <0.01). Tubular damage was significantly inhibited in IRIS mice, compared with that in IRIC mice (P <0.05).Results of this study suggest that IRI, and specifically ischemic renal tubular injury, is inhibited following LTS pre-treatment.
