Details This study aimed to clarify the characteristics of the ethical dilemmas experienced by occupational therapists and identify solutions applicable in the clinical practice of occupational therapy for patients with mental health issues. In total, 11 occupational therapists who manage patients with mental disorders participated in the study. We surveyed them regarding the clinical ethical dilemmas and their solutions in a semi-structured interview. These findings could help develop the structure of ethical reasoning model and clinical ethical consultation for occupational therapists who manage patients with mental disorders.We identified the characteristics of ethical dilemma experienced by occupational therapists dealing with patients with mental disorders and the methods to resolve these dilemmas. These findings could help develop the structure of ethical reasoning model and clinical ethical consultation for occupational therapists who manage patients with mental disorders.
