| Details | ノルアドレナリン（NE）受容体はαとβ、2つのタイプの受容体に区分できるが、本研究においてはα2NE受容体のみに着目し、呼吸中枢に対するその受容体の持つ生理機能を解明した。呼吸ペースメーカーニューロンには2つのタイプが存在する。1つはカルシウム依存性（CS）、他方はナトリウム依存性（CI）ペースメーカーニューロンである。α2NE受容体の活性化は唯一CIペースメーカーニューロンの働きを修飾し、低酸素状態でのgasping（あえぎ呼吸）を抑制した。
