Details The present study aimed to develop the Speech-Language-Hearing Therapist Self-Efficacy Scale (ST-SES). Participants consisted of speech-language-hearing therapists (SLHTs). Development of the scale proceeded in several phases, including item development, reliability testing, criterion-related validity testing, and construct validity testing. Data from the 116 SLHTs who responded to all 58 items of the ST-SES were analyzed (response rate : 27.4%, valid response rate : 100%). Exploratory factor analysis revealed the following three factors with 41 items : “clinical practice centered on interpersonal relationships”, “research and study”, and “information gathering and organization”. A significant correlation was observed between the ST-SES and General Self-Efficacy Scale, thus confirming construct validity and criterion related validity. Cronbach’s α coefficient was 0.957 for the overall scale and 0.898-0.931 for thesubscales, confirming general internal consistency.
