| 概要 | It is increasingly common for organizations to provide environments and opportunities for children to develop English through free play outside of classrooms. This can include English play areas, or English Camps, or even just in the lobby area of a language school in which children spend time before and after class. Standard teacher education courses tend to focus more on lesson planning and execution than on how to facilitate learning in these kinds of spaces, and this can leave staff struggling, especially when their English proficiency is limited.
This presentation introduces two ways that were used to help university students reflect on their role as staff in an English Space for children, and shares four key learnings that may be useful for others working in similar environments. |
