概要 | When freely going downhill a slope on a bicycle, which is faster, a wheelie downhill only with the rear wheel, or a normal downhill with both wheels? To discuss this downhill problem, the moment of inertia, the deformation of the wheels, and the frictional torque at the wheel axels have to be taken into account. Experimental results show that the wheelie bicycle wins for a relatively large angle of the slope, while the normal bicycle wins for a small angle, consistent with a theoretical study. |
